A blog about crafts, art, selling both and other things that strike my fancy.
Featured Artist Friday is a bit short and late but there is much to see from the three talented artists who have been profiled this week.
For this week’s Featured Artist Friday post, I’m showcasing several talented artists who make supplies for other artists and crafters or teach others how they do what they do through the tutorials they sell. If you’ve always wanted to learn how to make prim stuffed toys, beaded jewelry, make lampwork beads, make rag quilts and/or felt toys, you’ll want to check out these crafters and their tutorials. This week, I’m also featuring one of the crafty suppliers from Crafty Tips who sells a wide variety of paper die cut items to use in your paper crafting projects.
What a week of craftiness and creativity it has been! Maybe it was the whole extra day in February or a bit of spring fever but there was simply too much handmade goodness to make my regular Featured Artist Friday post. I changed the format this week to create something which looks more like a cross between a Pinterest Pin Board and an Etsy Treasury.
Be sure to check out not only these great items but the other wonderful things all of the featured artists have been working on. And, if you are of a mind to, be sure to let them know Michele over at Blog About Crafts sent you.
Featured Artist Friday might need to be renamed to Featured Etsian Friday. Once again this week’s roundup is full of wonderful items handcrafted by Etsians. The talented Etsians who are participating on Crafty Tips are offering many of the finest handcrafted items that can be found online and these 6 Etsians are no exception.
This week, you’ll just have to come and check them out for yourself to learn what they are making and offering for sale in their shops. But, I suggest you don’t wait too long as one item has been marked down 50% and several others are one of a kind items. So, as the saying goes, you snooze, you lose.
Pinterest. You’ve surely heard of that wonderful site by now. It’s like a giant scrapbook being put together by people from all over the world. It’s also become one of the best places to find the work of talented artists you may have never heard of before. With that in mind, I thought it might be fun to take a random look around and take what I find to create a collection of artists who are working with a similar medium. What I found is a group of 7 talented folks who are cutting, folding and pasting paper into wonderful and inspiring artwork. None of them on are Crafty Tips (yet) but I won’t hold that against them if you don’t.
Talented jewelry artists and Etsians make up this week’s Featured Artist Friday post. Their pieces range from a large statement necklace to fine silver and crystal earrings to a steampunk bracelet with rifle casings. There’s something in this post for every taste and budget. Be sure to check out the jewelry pieces featured here as well as the many wonderful other pieces available in their shops.
