So far, so good, with my New Year's crafting resolution. I promised myself that I would make more time to craft this year. Last year brought a lot of good ideas but I have very little to show for it. It has only been three weeks, but I have already posted several new vintage cross stitch patterns that I have stitched up with several more waiting to be posted. And, I am also working on a button project that I hope will turn out well enough to turn into a tutorial. The Edible Crafts section of Crafty Tips finally has a listing for decorated baked goods. Sweet Sugar Belle's cookies are mini works of art. Her cookies look almost too pretty to eat and she shares how she creates much of her cookie art and shares some great recipes too.

Pinterest. You've surely heard of that wonderful site by now. It's like a giant scrapbook being put together by people from all over the world. It's also become one of the best places to find the work of talented artists you may have never heard of before. With that in mind, I thought it might be fun to take a random look around and take what I find to create a collection of artists who are working with a similar medium. What I found is a group of 7 talented folks who are cutting, folding and pasting paper into wonderful and inspiring artwork. None of them on are Crafty Tips (yet) but I won't hold that against them if you don't.

I love Pinterest. I didn't think I would ever become addicted to a social media-style site but this one has captured my interest. Problem is that some of the members are doing things that are frustrating me to pieces. This post is basically an open letter to them to ask them to stop doing what they are doing and why it is that it drives me crazy. Craft Tutorial Thursday once again showcases a variety of great crafting tutorials and ideas in a variety of crafting mediums from talented artists. This week we have a felt applique flower embellishment, some great vintage advertising printables, a rustic clock tutorial, an embellished t-shirt tutorial, some words of advice on using copper clay and a great idea on how to make a cheap cutting table. With so many great craft projects to explore, I doubt you won't find something that you'll want to try.
